Spoilers are clearly marked with (SPOILERS). Please skip that sentence if you do not wish to have a spoiler.

In the college town of Morganville, vampires and humans coexist in (relatively) bloodless harmony. Then comes Bishop, the master vampire who threatens to abolish all order, revive the forces of the evil dead, and let chaos rule. But Bishop isn't the only threat.

Violent black cyclone clouds hover, promising a storm of devastating proportions as student Claire Danvers and her friends prepare to defend Morganville against elements both natural and unnatural. (GoodReads Blurb).

It's war time in Morganville. Bishop made his move in Feast of Fools and now Amelie and the Glass House residents have to defend the town from Bishop and the vampires who have joined him.

I'll be honest: I'm reading other people's review as I write this to remember what actually happened in this book because I seem to have erased it from my mind due to it's chaotic plotline, which makes zero sense. What I do remember though is Claire's character growth which was fantastic. I felt this is where she has showed the best version of herself. Her personality has changed; she is not shy anymore, and she protects and speaks up for those she loves.

I think in this book there are no clear lines of who is 'evil' or 'good'. There are three sides in the war for Morganville, and all of them are varying shades of grey. Of course we're rooting for the Glass house residents though. I would also like to appreciate the crazies (Myrrin) because I love a little crazy.

Anyway, the plotline. This is gonna get messy because I have no clue what the plot was supposed to be apart from the war. You have been warned. Shane's dad appears out of nowhere threatening to blow up the Mayor's Townhouse (Office? Who knows). Jason is being a creep and stands by Bishop. Claire and Shane had a moment where he FINALLY admits he loves her (I swear Caine was just dragging their romance out - it still has not happened, yet we know it will) Myrrin is acting like a psycho, running off to god knows where and then (SPOILERS) hands Claire over to Bishop at the end of the book. (END OF SPOILER). This book is literally all over the place. It does not come together. I also hate how Michael and Eve are becoming supporting characters, instead of MC's - they need more spotlight cause all they do is fight each other. Oh yeah, Amelie doesn't appear much either because she's too busy 'fighting'.

You can probably tell I am not a fan of this book. I will leave it here because I will rant if I go into more detail and we don't want a rant! 2 Stars. It would be 1 Star but I loved the ending.

Rating: 2 Stars

Would I Recommend: Only if you plan to continue the series.

Will I Read the next book? Already have.
