Elixir (Covenant #3.5) by Jennifer Armentrout: Review

Writer's picture: Rebecca - Becca's Bookish BlogRebecca - Becca's Bookish Blog

Aiden St. Delphi will do anything to save Alex. Even if it means doing the one thing he will never forgive himself for. Even if it means making war against the gods.

Elixir bridges the gap between Deity and Apollyon. It's also Aidan's POV and shows his struggle on how to help Alex after her Awakening.

It picks up basically right after Deity (Please read Deity first before Elixir) and tells us exactly what happens. Elixir is only 80 pages long, but it's a glorious 80 pages full of character depth, romance and tension.

I think the best part of this book is the fact it's Aidan's POV and we really get to know how deep his feelings are for Alex - and how far he will go to protect her. We also see how much guilt he carries from the events of the past few books.

I adore when different languages are included in books and Elixir was no different - and it fit perfectly. It wasn't just dumped in there for the fun of it.

It is quite fast paced but that doesn't take anything away from it because it helps with the plotline . I loved the scenes with Apollo - he can be kind and funny, but also very serious (such as dropping massive bombs on the others) and he's generally a really good character.

Not much else I can say without spoiling it, so I'll end it here! A solid 4 stars.

Rating: 4 stars Would I recommend? Yes

Will I read the next one? Yes.
